Santa Comes Down The Chimney with a FUD!

20/12/2012

Picture
The Gallus Xmas Gala went as usual, with lashings of FREE Mince Pies and instead of mulled wine this year, Mulled CIDER! Top banter - Cash-back! Also as usual was the FUD winning...

He was sat by himself at the bar. He scored badly, but he did it again! The FUD still managed to win. Can no-one stop him?
Picture
Here's how it finished...
Inmates  Winners
The Bottle Merchants
4 Quizzly Bears
Lightning Cat and the Thunder Ferret
FUD
The Original Quizzly Bears
Handsfree Lightsabres: Surprise Twist - Rapey Kevin is Training to be a Teacher
My Cousin’s a Tart
Science Bastards
The Do Badly’s
B&H
The Xmas Fanny Patrol
Savile & Sons
Emoth
Applause
What’s Your Favourite Owl?

Picture
- One team was asking everyone what their favourite Owl was. Weird.

- Quizteam Xmas Fanny Patrol was made up of 4 Young ladies on patrol for young men, not the other way round as I might have expected.

- There were TWO teams called Quizzly Bears.

Another strange occurrence was an Emo and a Goth teaming up to make a team called Emoth. Yes they were both wearing black. And yes they handed in a really uplifting and fun entry for the jokes contest as you can see...
Throughout the quiz The Science Bastards looked to be in pole position, but the final round proved problematic and so quiz legends The Inmates took the xmas present of a box of stella home.

Big story of the night was the FUD’s comeback.
Unlike Santa who only comes once a year.

Next Gallus Quiz is 2nd Jan - full xmas quiz days and times online.

Cheers

Sir James

The Fud Does it Again!

13/12/2012

Big story of the night was how a lone drinker propping up the bar managed to beat 11 other quiz teams. But then, he is The FUD.

In other news fans of MBST regular David Harkin formed their own spin-off team, but it was the mind-fuck FUD who had the last laugh.
Here's how it finished...
FUD  Winner
2= Michael Barrymore's Swimteam
2= Quizzly Bears
The David Harkin Memorial Social Club
My Cousin's a Tart
Full Fat Handsfree Lightsabres  Fun Team
The Wise Quackers
Flightless Birds  Shared Applause
Ann Frank's Drumkit  Shared Applause

Here the FUD is lording it over us all. What a fud.

For the first time in 4 weeks there was no cash winner, so there is the biggest jackpot we have had for a month next week in Bar Gallus as the cash climbs to a £50 rollover. Woop woop.

Honeybadgers - Cash Champs 2 Weeks Running!

6/12/2012

Picture
Inspired by Celtic's progression in The Champion's League, The Honeybadgers made an impressive start and stayed in the lead until Handsfree Lightsabres reinforcements arrived... In the end though it was Smith n Jones tribute team The Honeymonsters who won!

Following an exciting night of European football, this was how it finished...
The Honeymonsters  Winners
Handsfree Lightsbares
Gadaffi Duck

Quizzley Bears
Weekend Best Friends  Nazi Cat Lovers
Raped by Dolphins  Fun Guys
Halal, is it Meat you're looking for?  Applause

Everyone had a go at The Beast leaving Honeymonsters to win the money for the SECOND week in a row! Boo! Who will stop them making it 3-weeks in a row next week? Surely someone has to?!
Picture
Seamus from Raped by Dolphins was voted funnest guy for this classic...

We would write a joke here about a herb and a fish...
...but it's neither the Thyme or the Plaice.

But if you ask me the Nazi Cat here should have won.
Unfortunately no-one ever asks my opinion though.

I'm sure no-one will be asking it again next week too.
