A packed night in Gallus. Not only was there the thrill of the El Classico and Celtic in the Champion's League, but also the Culture Show on BBC2! The last time we had that much fun with our clothes on, we had to put them in the wash afterwards. Birthday boy Chris from Bottle Merchants did this for the brown stains after bottling it (as usual in the tiebreak) hence why this Fud pictured here won the case of beer! It could be worse though Alan, at least you got to fondle my balls. Chowmein Sir James Spudguns were firing on all cylinders this week winning by more points than Jeremy Clarkson has on his driving licence. In a night boisterous with chants of "Gamble" there was a disappointing conclusion to the Fun Round. No team was fun enough to win, so there is a Rollover! Expect at least a DVD next week in the glittery bag then... The Beast was on top form, using his jokebook inherited from turkey king Bernard Matthews to ensure a £75 rollover next time. Here's how it ended... Sir James Once more things were so close it came down to a tiebreaker and Chris from The Bottle Merchants wasn't feeling confident because he had never won a tiebreak before. Chris wasn't the first man to come up against Spudguns (Oops Pardon!) but he might be the first to beat them to the beer as occasional champs The Spudz had to bow to Chris's superior knowledge of tax haven Monaco. How much his off-shore assets are worth is anyone's guess (Oops Pardon!) Here's how it finished... Honest. And there's a £50 cash jackpot. Chin chin Sir James The Alkies won the quiz. They were very happy. They took the advice of a guy shouting at the bar and won £100. This is less than they usually spend on booze of an afternoon, but they were still very happy. A quieter night at Gallus than we are used to. Everyone's away on holiday and I can't wait to join them this weekend. Don't worry though, I'll be back for next week's quiz! Here's how it finished... Big love Sir James This Wednesday night in Gallus it's a showbiz extravaganza with Magic Mike, The Kung Fu Panda and this actual question... Who was the first member of Team GB to get a Bronze medal at London 2012? Here is Panda that doesn't know any Kung Fu. Even Brian Dowling could kick the shite out of him. Fact. A quieter night than usual in Bar Gallus, I'm guessing a few regular teams would have been at home watching the beach volleyball at the Olympics. Alone. With the sound down. As usual Bottle Merchants stormed into an early lead that was slowly eroded until surprise winners North and South emerged. They were absolutely shocked to have won. Here they are looking like surprised criminal masterminds! Here's the final order of events... North and South Winners The Bottle Merchants Michael Barrymore's Swimteam ft. a Girl Fun Team Spudguns Pascal's Triangle Quizzly Bears Hoopy's Huddlers Applause Bar Stewards The cards were tricky, everyone had a go, but no-one could beat them. After that The Beast reigned supreme taking the £75 and adding more - it's a £100 rollover situation next week. Big love Sir James |
