Atomic Leslie had full marks until the Music Round tonight, that's when things started to go wrong... Somehow everyone had a disastrous final round apart from Quizzly Bears who left a couple of boxes blank to cement their place as Champions tonight.
Lisa Bear came up from The Bears to try to beat The Beast. It was her first time, so I was gentle with her. She was swayed by her team to go for the wrong answer and The Beast told her where to go. Next week it's a £75 rollover. Nice. Here's how it finished... Quizzly Bears Winners Atomic Leslie (Final Quiz? We'll see...) Go and Stu Experience/Josef Fritzel's Basement Disco Stakha@no-ni+fie=rs Spudguns Clydebank Olympic Beer Drinking Team Weird Fish on Tour Quiz Akabusi Stand Up for Judas Alkies on Tour Applause Bald and Shamed The Table Next to us is CHEATING My highlight of the night was Spudguns winning the Fun Round. Top gal Elaine confirmed her favourite word was Cunt and a member of the Josef Fritzel's Basement Disco team (formerly known as Go and Stu Experience) almost wet their pants laughing. A sad goodbye to the members of Atomic Leslie who are moving to Wales to enjoy the leisure centres there. Rumour has it a Sub-Atomic Leslie Quizteam may appear instead now... £75 next time then. Nice. Chin chin Sir James Tonight a dead beastie, a 40yr old virgin and this actual question; Who was the first ever first minister of Scotland in 1999? Here is a picture of a kitten. If I was a kitten that's where I would be keeping warm too. Good luck kittens! Chowmein. Winning team Daft Spunk got 3 spontaneous rounds of applause at the quiz tonight. Whenever I mentioned they were just engaged, even the hardest hearted quizzer was clapping with the force of a school assembly and fighting back the tears. Happy days. If you look carefully you can see her ring in the photo. No, not that ring you pervert. It's not that kind of quiz. Only thing that could stop the engagement celebrations was The Beast who insisted on rolling the cash up to £50. Here's how it finished... Daft Spunk Winners Atomic Leslie Finally Funnest team award at their Penultimate Quiz? Spudguns Apocoquiz Now Late starters turned high scorers! Michael Barrymore's Swim Team They only thought the jackpot was £2,500. Whoops. Gee Quiz IAIN & the gun show Da 'Bio' Bomb Quizzley Bears We Love/Hate Jenna In other news Spudguns got what I think is the last table at my Champions Quiz. Could be standing room only now. We'll see... Chowmein Sir James Maroon 5, 4 of the best 90's albums, plus this actual question; What does an enzyme do? One for the science geeks there to stop them complaining about the lack of Star Wars and science in the quiz. A few spaces for teams left at The Champions Quiz, so let me know later if you're up for it. Chowmein and see you then. Sir James A busy night in Bar Gallus with multiple winners... Handsfree Lightsabres booked their place at my Champions Quiz and were awarded funnest team for a joke so funny it's in my weekly email. Honeymonsters - Virgins until they were 13 GAMBLED and came up smelling of Tuborg as they claimed the winners prize. The other main winner of the night was 50 Shades of Gay and timezone expert Stu here who got his hands on the £150 cash jackpot - nice work. Michael Barrymore's Swimteam suggested they might use it to put animals up their arses. Just jealousy I'm sure... Here's how it finished... Honeymonsters - Winners Spudguns The Bottle Merchants 50 Shades of Gay - Cash Champs 50 Shades of Desperate Michael Barrymore's Swim Team Atomic Leslie Jade Goody's Hairdryer Quizzley Bears Sober Team = Poor Result Me, Myself & I Handsfree Lightsabres Power Bottom for Jesus Steptoe & Son A big well done to The Handsfree Lightsabres who became the first team to secure their place at my Champions Quiz extravaganza. Next week the cash jackpot is back to £25, but the banter will be worth twice that. Chin chin Sir James What a handsome guy Marcus Agius is. Phwoar - what a hunk? Tonight at the Quiz I'll be asking What £750,000 a year post Marcus Agius left? Also there will be some Radio 1 banter, a Belgium minimum wage AND no mention of Tim Henman's Wimbledon triumphs... See ya later. Thanks quiz kittens for another top Gallus quiz. My highlight of the night had to be Calum from winning Team IAIN coming up to size up the golf WITHOUT his glasses. He gave it a go and fairly obviously missed. Gonnae get yersel to Specsavers pal! In other news poor Diane left with NOTHING after The Beast was cruel. Sorry Quizzly Bears - next time and all that. Here's how things finished... 1. Team IAIN Winners 2= Bar Staff 2= Atomic Leslie 3. Bottle Merchants 4. Quizzly Bears 5. Alky's on Tour 6. Cosmo and Wanda 7. The Clydebank Mass Debating Team 8. Pull Out Before You Quiz 9. Down Under Another highlight of the night was The Alkies giving me a battery operated fan that had disco lights on - I was the envy of the entire pub. Thanks Alkies. A question in next week's quiz will be here in advance to help you and in the meantime there's my online quiz to keep you happy until you win £150 next week. Chowmein! Sir James We fight off Dr Octopus, dance to Chaka Demus and Pliers, hunt a few Vampires and ask this actual question; Which is bigger (Land area)? The USA (inc. Alaska) OR Australia?\ Here is a picture of that evil bastard and friend of Jim Davidson's Dr Octopus - how I enjoy his embracing warm hugs... It's a £125 rollover tonight. See you later! Sir James |
