Team IAIN: Winner's Badge Each!

28/5/2012

Picture
More sunburn than usual at the quiz this week. The sunburn was so bad some regular teams had to have the night off to escape the searing heat.

A first tonight though as Brendan, Fiona and Sarah of 19th Hole fame settled down to enormous plates of Ribs with 5 month old baby Henry. His first ever quiz. What a proud moment for the parents.

In other news Team IAIN tussled with last week's winners The Woolly McGraws before coming out on top. I bullied David from Team IAIN by deciding it was about time someone in the team was actually called IAIN and that someone should be him. Luckily though the situation calmed down when the champs realised they had reached the historic milestone of 3 quiz wins and so now have a badge each. Phew.

Here's where the teams finished...
IAIN      Winners
The Woolly McGraws
David, Jasmin + The Technicolour Espadrilles
The Scortchio Gash Pirates    Fun Guys!
Team Henry
Team Croft!  Applause
Team Shite
Caido St Adele & MD

As usual it was The Pirates who were voted the funnest team. What was unusual was BOTH their joke submissions making it into the final vote for best joke, thus guaranteeing them the biscuits.

A big thanks to all those who ventured in from the sunshine.
Next week the jackpot is £71 + whatever else is added!

It was the first ever quiz tonight in The West Highland Gate AKA The Beefy and thanks to the support of regular teams and the staff it was a stonker.

Never has the word "Horn" been shouted so much, but it was the cards that got the most action, including the longest shuffle in living memory.

Here's the final order of teams..
The Woolly McGraws            Winners
The High Flying Unicorn
Young Guns
Three Pints
Mash The Gash Pirates         Fun Guys
Steven Hawking's Football Boots
Two Pints
The Chancers
ARC                                      Applause

A big thanks to all the Staff from the Beefy that came along and the regulars from The Cross Keys who made it down too. Even the scurvy ridden old tramp at the bar.

I'll be back next week and fresh from a stag do the night before, so the same level of atmosphere but a bit quieter will be appreciated, thanks.
