Cider Champs - The Gentleman's Throbbing Chomper!

28/1/2013

Picture
A typically boisterous night in Milngavie with a good few boos for The Honeymonster.
He was propping up the bar with his bowl of Sugar Puffs quizzing solo for much of the night and still managed an impressive 2nd place finish. Boo.
It was the Generation Game guys who won though. Here they are being photo-bombed by Del double V's Pirate. How rude!

Pirates themselves were the funnest team as usual and kindly organised the £1 collection. Slipping in amongst the £1 coins was this little bad boy a Swedish 10Kr coin, so I will have to keep a closer eye on things. Nigel Farage would not be happy...

The Pirates poster here is advertising an unspecified number of Groats available next week - and there I was thinking they preferred goats...
Unanimously judged best joke of the night:
My 7 year old son got sent home from school yesterday.
His teacher asked him "What comes after 69?"
He answered "Mouthwash" - I've never been so proud.
Next week then, there's a £15.50 + 10kr rollover!

Pirates Default Winners

21/1/2013

Picture
After two attempted rounds of quiz fun there was too much snow on the pitch to quiz on and for safety reasons it was abandon quiz until next week. It wasn't just the Tennents that was "ice cold"...

Sincere apologies to The Pirates who were romping into the lead like the Champions they are. They got full marks, and will hoping to get full marks again when we resume next week.

A big shout out the the Honeymonster/2 Pints holiday club who were absent in Sweden this week for religious reasons.

Hopefully get our quiz on next week.

Captain Stu gives the Cash to the Honeyz not the Honeys!

14/1/2013

Picture
The last time Captain Stu hosted a quiz in Milngavie, there was a riot and people died. This time Sir James was watching on, so the general levels of class and behaviour were much better!

A big well done to Quizzly Bears duo Jenni and Annabel who started off losing the quiz, but ended up winning by a convincing margin - top marks to Girl Power as fellow Tory ginger female icon Geri Halliwell would no doubt agree.

Here the Quizzly Bears (oestrogen edition) are pictured coyly sipping their drinks and thinking about puppies like ladies do. For they are ladies. These Honeys may have taken the cider, but it was a ginger less pleasing to the eye who took the money...

Yes, it was the Ginster of Team Honeymonster who took about £50 in small change to go towards his puggy addiciton. Obviously this got an epic boo and cals of 'fix' as is the tradition.

Picture
The two best items of clothing worn at the quiz were a sound activated LED Transformers light up T-shirt a Scotrail bag. One cost a fortune, took ages to arrive and was ordered online - the other was free and given away in a train station. Looking at the pictures here, you can work out which was better value...

He'll wear any old bin liner. Fact.

Legendary Transformers T-shirt. Sexy.
Team iPirate got the round of applause for finishing in last place, and as Pirate Glen had bravely quizzed solo it was a thunderous round of applause. The volume of which can only be compared to a Michelle McManus belch echoing round a small Greggs after she has eaten 2 steak slices and downed a 2 litre bottle of full fat coke. Dirty.

Speaking of Dirty, the jokes were typical Milngavie filth. Apart from one ray of light in the form of a beautiful limerick about the singing talent of former Hear'say star Kim Marsh. Topical.

Next week it's back to basics with Quiz supremo Sir James.
Expect class, quality and lots of love.
