Not too many Errors from the Error Bar!

30/10/2012

Picture
In a close fought contest quiz regulars Handsfree Lightsabres were beaten by just 2 points by strangely named team Error Bars. Handsfree Lightsabres were only slightly distraught that they once again missed out by the slenderest of margins. How upsetting.

The cards were tricky, and my  horn had some action - but it was also tricky. Or should that be sticky? Either way The Beast was boss and stopped everyone and anyone from claiming the cash. This means there is a £30 rollover next week. Enough to buy Adele the 6 big mac meals she normally has for breakfast.

Oh Dear

Once again it was an absolute Jimmy Savile gag-fest. So it was deeply disappointing that I FORGOT to give away my Jim'll Fix it badge. Oopsy daisy.
Still, at least we got to vote this classic the winner;

Jimmy Savile's family have had his headstone removed as a mark of respect.
All that is left is a small hole and some sparsh bush...
Just what Sir Jimmy would have wanted.

Maybe I'll remember to bring that Jim'll Fix it badge next week...

2 Wins in 2 Nights for those bloody Honeymonsters!

23/10/2012

Picture
A busy first time in Dukes. 8 teams were clamouring for my case of Cobra - and with Romney's Binders taking a 3 point lead into the final round it looked like it was all over...

However last night's winners from The Beef were back Honeymonsters and gambled in the final round to claim the cobra for themselves. 2 wins in 2 nights - and now they tell me they are heading to Bungo to make it 3 nights in a row!

Michael Barrymore's Swim Team
Romney's Binders

The winning joke tonight was a cracker...

When will these Jimmy Savile sex allegations end?
Police are now saying that Jeremy Beadle may have had a small hand in it!

And there I was thinking I had heard all the Jimmy Savile gags already... Now I am thinking this is the tip of another iceberg of Jimmy Savile jokes. Fingers crossed!

Some quality art entries handed in tonight too as below...
Hopefully we'll get the same high quality next week.

Justin Bieber Plate to be won next week!

17/10/2012

Picture
Despite a showing from quiz regulars Handsfree Lightsabres and Quizzly Bears, there wasn't quite enough of an attendance to get the quiz on in Dukes - so it was a disappointing night - unless you are a Justin Bieber fan that is, because the prizes rollover to next week!

Yes, that's right - there is another chance to win the Justin Bieber plate on Monday! Aren't you the lucky one?

Optimus Cock offered The Gullibles £5 for their plate on Tuesday night in Bungo, so they are obviously hot property.

Why not join the Facebook event? I have.

Hopefully see you Monday then.

FREE ENTRY!

12/10/2012

Never mind looking forward to the weekend, here at The Quiz Mansion we're looking forward to Monday - when the NEW quiz starts in Dukes bar.

So far a few familiar pub quiz teams are threatening an appearance including The Handsfree Lightsabres and Honeymonsters. There is also a rumour that the lovely Laurie of Den fame could be assembling a small but dangerous crack team.

The good news is you'll have more cash to spend on booze and coffees in Dukes as it's a FREE ENTRY situation. Classic.

See you Monday!

A few folk have asked me "Where is Dukes Bar?" - My response is either "it's in your wildest dreams" or "it's near the Kelvingrove Art Gallery Museum" either way, I am sure folk will easily be able to find it...

If you haven't sampled the quirky independent charms of Dukes bar, then my advice is pop in on Monday 15th October and Sir James will show you a good time!

Any quiz team putting "Duke" or "Dukes" in their team name Monday 15th October for the first quiz gets a BONUS POINT.
