Number of The Beast Reign Supreme

29/1/2013

Picture
A big Tom Hanks to rival Quizteams Drunk Naked and Awkward and The Assorted Numbers of the Beast for bringing their beautiful faces to the quiz. The only thing more beautiful is surely Subo after her annual shave. Hot.

Events ensued in a particularly dramatic fashion with a grand finale tie-break between Various Beasty Numbers and Drink Naked and it was an amazing play by Team Captain Craig to get the exactly correct answer to win the tiebreak conundrum. What a legend. As you can see half his team left in protest refusing to be in the same photo as a box of Skol.

Next week I'm back and hopefully fingers crossed with a better prize than that Skol pish. Certainly there's a £20+ rollover anyways.

Red Army in Triple Crown Winning Pub Quiz Coup!

22/1/2013

Picture
The night was all about one team and one army - The Red Army - pictured here with their winners booze, cash prize and funnest team prize too. Sarah on the right here had a selection of visual jokes to get everyone in a fun mood, but I can confirm that Handsfree Lightsabres were not laughing.

Best Team Name of the night was 0.666 the Number of the Millibeast / 668 next door neighbour to the Beast / DCMXVI Roman Numeral of The Beast. Their obsession with "Beastiality" must have been a minor distraction as they ended up one agonising point from victory.

Getting the round of applause was Drunk, Naked and Awkward who it seems may have chosen their team name from bitter experience. Awkward.

Next week I've got a £20 jackpot if anyone wants it.

Janny is the best Sabre!

14/1/2013

Picture
Dukes was bustling with inquisitive young quizlings last week, so we were expecting everyone and their gran this week...

Instead we had Peter Tobin's Beechgrove Garden and The Handsfree Lightsabres! So, was it to be an epic battle between these two opposing forces of quiz? No. The Tobin's trotted off early leaving all the quiz responsibilities to The Sabres.

So I split them into individual teams and quizzed them off against each other to see who was the brightest Sabre of the bunch. Here you can see who won...

Well done Janny - we always suspected you were carrying those other Sabres.

Next week I'm back with the cash jackpot - assuming there's enough interest!

Big love

Have You Ever Seen Anne Widdecombe's Vajazzle?

8/1/2013

Picture
Biggest boo of the night was not for Jim Davidson - but for my announcement we would have an electronic app based quiz next week... so I'll bow to public demand and CANCEL Dukes Quiz of the Future. Instead we'll have a good old fashioned paper and pens pub quiz as usual next Monday. No bother.

Thanks to all for a bustling quiz night in Dukes. Well done to regular brain boxes Anne Widdecombe's Vajazzle. Despite their disturbing team name, they won the day.
Here's how it ended...
Anne Widdecombe's Vajazzle  Winners
Drunk, Naked and Awkward
Handsfree Lightsabres
Euan & The Beauties  Fun Guys
Quizzly Bears
Nil Pwoints
Flying High  Round of Applause

The funnest team of the night had a spin on a classic joke for us, and tough to please comedy critic Barman Scott thought it was easily the best joke of the night...

Q. What's Brown and Sticky?
A. Anal.
He's out on bail and he means business - The Beast has £50+ for us to try and win next week!
