Ladies and The Tramp(s) comeback to Win!

28/11/2012

Picture
It's the best banter The Bungo's seen in a whole week. Double act Team Stewart were well placed to win with two rounds to go, but fucked it up to finish in third place.

There was better luck for Team Stewart in the Jokes contest. Their jokes entry was written to solve that age old battle of the sexes question "Who is funnier? Men or Women?"

From Her:
Q. What does the Brown Chicken say to the Brown Cow?
A. Brownchickenbrowncow!

From Him:
Knock Knock
Who's there?
Europe
Europe Who?
No. You're a poo!

Our decision on the night was Men were funnier than Women, but feel free to disagree below!

Here's how it finished...
Ladies and The Tramp(s)  Winners
Team Stewart  Funsters
Fan-Tash-tic
The Gullibles
Big Fact Hunt

Despite taking it up the rear all night The Gullibles managed to avoid the round of applause. Their team tonight was a skeleton squad that couldn't match the performance of their dream team two weeks ago when The Gullibles Won Everything.

Everyone had a go at the challenges until keepy-uppy hero Andrew from last placed quizteam Big Fact Hunt played like Pele to take on The Beast. The Beast did a Maradona hand-ball however, so the cash rolls over, and it's a £70+ situation next week!

If you are coming next week why not say you are coming in my Facebook Event?

The Chancers Take Their Chances!

20/11/2012

Chancers take their Chances!
In The Bungo this week a slightly quieter quiz session as Scotland continued to triumph in the Champions League soccerball contest. And when I say "Scotland" I mean 'Celtic'. And when I say "triumphed" I mean "lose"...

The Chancers used to come along to my Stube quiz every week and rarely managed a victory. Well, the best things are worth waiting for as Chancers teamed up with two new cold recruits still with their coats on to win the quiz with their new team Cold as Balls.

Highlights of my night included being bought a beer by my favourite Lady from the Ladies and The Tramp team. Quiz babe Ruth not only bought me a pint, but started a trend as a FREE burger arrived shortly after. Yum yum delicious.
Another highlight was the portmanteau team name from Handsfree Lightsabres and Optimus Cock and Captain Fanny. They only went and teamed up calling themselves Handsfanny Cocksabres. Classic.

Other teams in included The Usual Suspects who had heard about the Bungo quiz in The Mulberry Street bar quiz - were they spies maybe?

Confusingly the last placed team was called 2nd Last Place on 24pts, amusingly they did score better than 24pts, but didn't finish as high as 2nd Last. They will be trying to avoid the round of applause next week no doubt.

After everyone else had failed the challenges Gun-show Chancer Andy came back up only to get beat by The Beast, so it's a 43+ rollover situation. Or "pocket money" as The Gullibles call it!.
Surely if the winning team has any sense they will just invest their winnings in beers and burgers. I know I would. And if you don't know what to do with the flags you get in your burgers - Optimus Cock here can give you a few ideas...

The Night The Gullibles won Everything...

14/11/2012

Picture
A bustling night in the Bungo with a number of latecomers stumbling in to join the fun of the quiz. In the darkness above you can see the winners lurking....

Given all the new blood getting their quiz on, the big shock of the night was an old skool duo teaching the new class how it's done as Los Gullibolos won EVERYTHING available to them. Here was their checklist for the night...
Picture
Gullibles Quiz Checklist
Cash - won.
Booze - won.
Bonus points - won.
Jokes/Fun Round - won.
Biscuits - shared
Applause - avoided.
Psychic gifts - demonstrated

You get the idea.

As they went one better than a hat-trick all we can say is a new quiz record held by The Gullibles - the QUADRUPLE.

Amongst the mortals here's how it ended...
The Gullibles  Fun guys, Bonus winners, Cash Champs & Quiz Winners
5 Heads are Better than 1
The OA's
Handsfree Lightsabres: Posessed by the Ghost of Optimus Cock and Captain Fanny
The Housemartins
Excessive Consumption May Have Laxative Effects
Byron's Conkers
Bright Sparks
Team in The Corner
Ladies with a Missing Tramp
Not Getting My £1
Fashionably Late
Applause

As The Gullibles won everything, all I have left is probably about £50 next week. Still, that's decent - it will get you muchos beer and burgers.

Big love

Sir J.

2 Wins in 2 Weeks for these Bastards!

7/11/2012

Picture
Excessive Consumption made it 2 wins in 2 weeks. They didn't drop a point until the Fun Round - but that didn't stop Handsfree Lightsabres catching up with them by taking all 5 bonus points leaving the race for the top prize wide open...

The Excessive guys managed to seal the deal and scooped the beers - good enough to fight over it seems! The other winner was The Beast who ensured a rollover jackpot while chuckling about the devastation of Hurricane Sandy the bastard.

Returning to The Bungo celebrity screenwriter and STV star Sergio with The Gullibles+, tonight they had extra antipodean support and the assistance of former Rab Ha's barman Tim with Jo in support too. Quite a motley crew - sorry, I mean an impressive "formidable force". Cough cough.
Picture
The Chancers looked disappointed to take the applause and in a high scoring evening that's no surprise. A rare day when a score of 47 is the worst there is!

Speaking of good scores that were not good enough Handsfree Lightsabres scored a whopping 60 points but only came second. They were consoled by their 'encore' in the contest of the Jokes. This is their cracker that was deemed so good I was asked to read it out TWICE!

Had sex with a girl who had eczema last night.
Cracking fanny.

In other news Quizzly Bear Harry started his own team tonight The Dirty Harry's - they say they will be back to challenge for the £61 next week - and enjoy a 'New York' inspired burger/beer promo. Mmm nice.
