The Two Figs splashed down last Tuesday with an action packed return to action.

Winners on the night, Dead Dafodils (pictured)
held off challenges from several other teams including Quizzicals on Tour all the way from sunny Helensborough!

The jackpot was won by We got into Uni ....yay!  Despite them coming in nearly last place. Must be Cali they're off to!

The most recent Two Figs quiz truly was a testament to the unpredictable nature of the Sir James Pub Quiz. Two Figs regulars, the Mighty Morphin Flower Arrangers, leapt into an early lead, where they remained until the infamous music round reared its ugly head once more. A piss poor 2 points saw them drop down the leader board quicker than Lee Westwood and allowed The Scoobies to grab the lead.
With only the 1 in 3 round to go, 'Real bear hugs are often fatal' trailed by just 2 points. The Scoobies played it safe and scored exactly 0 points with RBHAOF risking it with their recently won biscuits and securing six points and a dramatic, last ditch victory.

4th - Inglorious Bar Staff (IBS - no prizes for unexpected abbreviations in this quiz chaps)

Special mention must go to team Snookie who made their quiz debut, scored only 12 points (including -6 in the final round) and still managed to defeat the Beast and stroll off into the sunset with £114 in the back burner.

QUIZ WINNERS - Team Awesome lived up to their name and led the quiz from start to finish and were first to try and break through the Play Your Cards Right wall of death. Sadly they failed and The Beast survived, but not for long....

2nd Place and FUNNEST TEAM! - The Mighty Morphin Flower Arrangers (West End division) were hoping to land their first Two Figs victory but couldn't cope with the might of Team Awesome. Behind the scenes chat suggested that the buckets of gin they were drinking may have played a part. MMFA were also given the opportunity to take on The Beast but fell at the last card...

3rd Place and CA$H WINNERS - The Rookie Wookies had a Two Figs debut to remember, despite knowing heehaw about Scottish music. They managed a respectable third but triumphed in the Play Your Cards Right and earned themselves the chance to take on The Beast. The Beast was swiftly sent back whence he came and the Wookies pocketed themselves a tasty £67.

Special mention must go out to the Bar Staff who had worked like trojans all day and were still up for giving the quiz a go. Sadly they only managed Round One and 8 points before shit got all crazy again.

So after the Rookie Wookies stole the cash, the jackpot has been reset for this Sunday's Scottish TV/Film themed quiz.

Glasgow's greatest minds had gathered, elsewhere it seemed, as the Two Figs played host to their first ever pub quiz. Nevertheless, a willing and enthusiastic bunch of participants assembled to take part and were treated to (probably) the Two Figs first ever one-sided dance off and a complimentary bowl of nachos.

Nae team was willing to claim the cash jackpot on the first outing, although Flangiva's Linney did give it a right good crack. She was sadly pummeled by The Beast! So next week, it's only a bloody £50+ rollover...nice!

Here he is! It's TV's very own Quizmaster Scott now available served hot and in the flesh on Sunday nights down the Byres Road in Two Figs.

And if you are thinking the decor reminds you of The Bungo, then you are onto something as The Two Figs and The Bungo are sisters. Yes, like much of Dundee, they are related. 

The fun begins in Two Figs this Sunday 2nd June from around 8pm - just in time for the start of the West End Festival - FANCY THAT!
